Catherine (Rin) Powers
Hello! I'm Rin Powers, and I'm 19 years old. I'm from Durham, North Carolina, and am currently going into my second year at Northeastern University studying Computer Science and Game Design. I love to draw, play guitar, and go outside and catch critters. Some of my favorite video games are Phasmophobia, Life is Strange, and, of course, Minecraft. This is my first year being a counselor for GMG, but I've previously been a camper for four years. I'm so excited to meet all of the campers and help create amazing video games!

Kaylene Wang
Hi, I'm Kaylene! I'm studying Game Art at the USC Games program. I love drawing, 3D modeling, and writing stories! As a kid, I loved games such as Minecraft, Undertale, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. I drew comics of my favorite characters meeting each other and wrote tales of their epic adventures. I still do these things, but now I also make the art and 3D models for games — both my own and for others! As of one year studying games at USC, I have worked on 8 games in total: three board games, three short video games, and two longer video games. I’m very excited to be able to share what I learned working in the Unity and Unreal engine during this camp!

Savannah Jo Balistreri
Hi! I'm Savannah—I graduated from Santa Clara University in June with a major in Computer Science and minors in Studio Art and Creative Writing. This fall, I'll be starting the Game Design and Development master’s program at RIT. I have one very loving yet dangerous cat named Wasabi, I love for anything mushroom or plant-themed, and I own very many stuffed animals and Lego sets (botanical and insects). This will be my second year with GMG, and I’m super excited to meet everyone—especially if I get to see some of my campers from last year! (Also, my favorite Pokémon is Rowlet.)

Sophie Grace Christiansen
Hi! I’m Sophie! This is my first year as a counselor but my 9th year being with GMG! I am a big fan of all things game art and design, especially when it comes to making characters! My favorite games are; Breath of the Wild, OverCooked, Minecraft, and Roblox! I love getting outside and exploring, and I also enjoy cooking! I am a freshman at the University of Montana, and I’m currently a Studio Art major!

Jaynie Rose Leavins
Hi, I'm Jaynie, a recent grad from UC Irvine's game design and interactive media program! I'm currently a freelancer and I often work in narrative design and digital art. Writing and character art are my main areas of interest. I've been passionate about games and telling stories since I was a kid, and I especially came to love RPGs! Over the last dozen of years my favorite games have included Roblox, Maplestory, League of Legends, Undertale, LoZ: Breath of the Wild, Valorant, Fallout 4, and Stardew Valley.
Some of my other hobbies include reading, baking, and pottery. I love fashion, my favorite show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I have two cats. Although traveling is another interest of mine, I really love to explore a game's world, and I am so excited to be helping make some new ones at GMG's camp!

Hailee Cunningham
Hailee is a senior attending Duke University/Duke Kunshan University, majoring in user experience design (UI/UX). She has studied in Barcelona, Spain, Kunshan, China, and Durham, North Carolina (she did not like the barbecue). Hailee was the primary UI/UX designer for a soon-to-be-published Steam game (linked below!). Hailee is proficient in nine different programming languages, which she often employs in her game development projects. She is passionate about human computer interaction, particularly in the unique way people engage with videogames as compared to other media.
When she’s not building or playing videogames, you can find Hailee crocheting popular videogame characters, sculpting, painting, drawing, or contributing graphic design for various campus organizations and activities.

Noelle Garrick
Noelle Garrick is a game developer, artist, and recent graduate of Duke University, where she studied Computer Science and Visual Art. Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling and technology, spanning VR experiences, educational games, and interactive art installations. Coming from a low-income background, Noelle knows firsthand how powerful it is to have someone believe in you early on.
She’s passionate about mentorship, especially for students who don’t always see themselves represented in the games they play or the people who make them. She’s excited to help campers build confidence, learn new skills, and bring their ideas to life.
